Aluminium Casters Association of India (ALUCAST) was established with a vision to setup a resource based training institute to impart advance knowledge and skills to professionals in the Aluminium Casting Industry. Since its inception in the year 1989 by Mr. H. K. Firodia, then Chairman and Managing Director of Bajaj Tempo Ltd., the organization has been continuously making efforts to enhance the competence of personnel in Aluminium Casting Industry by providing latest information in design, materials, production, testing and marketing. The organization first held its conference in 1995 at Pune, Maharashtra. Subsequently, it became annual event held every December. The event is unremittingly being held in the various metropolitan cities like Chennai, Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Goa. 3rd International Exhibition on Aluminium Casting was held at Chennai, 11 - 14 December 2008 at Chennai Trade Centre with 17 participating countries. 166 exhibitors participated in the exhibition catering about 1850 visitors. To give impetus to the growing industry, several awards like Best Foundry in the category of Large, Medium and Small Companies and Individuals, Best Casting, Foundry Motivational Award etc. were also conferred to the entrepreneurs and companies.
